Tenders are invited for Mapping of Smallholder Farmers in the Bukavu Region in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Drc) The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is looking for EXPRESSION OF INTEREST from consultancy firms interested in assisting with data gathering on Small Holder Farmers (SHF) and Intermediaries along the supply chain of the IFC's client (the Company), which is based in the Bukavu region in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This exercise intends to collect data that will be used by the company's management team and the Out-grower Program to better monitor the supply chain. THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST SHOULD NOT EXCEED 50 PAGES. Scope of Work: The consulting firm will be responsible for using data collection tools to gather all necessary data from 5,000 SHF and 65 intermediaries. The tasks to be performed by the consulting firm include: · Review existing and preliminary information provided by the company to identify the geographical locations that will be targeted for the data collection exercise. · Developing an action plan for the data collection, including a) Determining the number of SHF to be targeted; b) Identifying the number of intermediaries to be targeted; and c) Establishing a timeline for the completion of the assignment. · Propose and agree with IFC on the data collection tools to be used. Conducting data collection in the field using the agreed tools. This will involve collecting personal information of each SHF and GPS data point. Data collection should take place at the SHF farm/home of the respondent, and GPS coordinates for all SHF farms or homes must be recorded at the time of the interview.
