Description: Objectives and scope of workThe concept of community categorization of poverty/wealth is based on the use of knowledge from people who live in the same community, who can observe others over a long period of time and have a better understanding of wealth and poverty levels than an external person. In addition, communities have their own concepts of poverty/wealth that are not only dependent on income. There are socially established indicators of well-being that can also help identify poor households. Communities need to decide on their own definitions of wealth/poverty categories. The poverty/wealth categorization exercise at the community level will help to highlight the complexities and realities of wealth and poverty, rather than using definitions predetermined by people outside these communities.The specific objective of this ass... - Documents :
