• UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals in order to CONSTRUCTION OF TWO (2) TOYOKANA SPACES, KABALO AND NYUNZU TERRITORY, TANGANYIKA IN 2 SEPARATE LOTSThe United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the as part of its mission of child protection and education, obtained funding as part of the “POWER FOR GIRL” program in order to implement a project to empower and protect girls against sexual violence and marriage of children in the DRC, particularly in the Province of Tanganyika, in the territories of Nyunzu and Kabalo. Thus, as part of this intervention, the construction of two (02) Safe Spaces commonly called TOYOKANA Spaces is planned. A safe space is a safe place where women and girls feel physically and emotionally safe, able to express themselves and seek support. In today's context, the term safe refers to the absence of trauma, excessive stress, risks violence (fear of violence) or abuse, including sexual abuse. It is a space where women and girls, as the intended beneficiaries, feel comfortable and enjoy the freedom to express themselves without fear of being judged or harmed. A safe space is also a place where women and girls can come together to socialize, build social networks, and participate in structured group activities that build their skills, confidence...
